the copper itself is decent thickness and quality, the solder/welds on the seams are good. it is just for an artsy knick knack on my coffee table so it really wasn't worth sending back for a tidier or tighter unit.

i just feel for 600 bucks it should look like a pro job inside and out and be a little tighter fitting like a custom made professionally built still should be. The inlet and outlet lines are 1/2 inch od and are a simple bolt in item. The large 1 1/4 inch opening allows you to add sliced fruit, nuts exc. maybe i got the 1 crappy one out of a 100, maybe ready to run meant right after you clean up someone else's mess. The Flavor Maker is deigned to add any fruit pieces or flavors to any items you are cooking. but there is a 1/4 inch gap where the hood fits to the kettle that would take a lot of putty to seal up. links and we will receive a commission if you make a qualified purchase. after cleaning up all the crap the manufacturer should have done it did hold water with no leaks so i guess it would work. The thumper keg is an intrinsic part of the small-scale distillation process. i didnt get the polishing kit like they said came with it but i wanted an older backwoods look so that was no big deal. This setup uses our 2' pot still along with our beer keg thumper attachment. This still has a proof output of 160 - 170. the worm was plugged with solder and corrosion which was a pain to clean out. A proven traditional still design made with modern equipment. it wasn't even touched on the inside, i had to spend a half a day pulling sharp copper shrapnel, flux, solder slag, out of the kettle, hood, thumper, just so it would be safe to try to clean it. the ad said ready to go so i thought maybe the inside would have been cleaned up some from manufacture. The tall, slim design is optimal for the condensing of incoming vapor, which is necessary for thumper action. I just got the thing for an artistic backwoods display and have something i could distill water with in an emergency. The Essential Extractor Thumper is made from heavy gauge stainless steel, and is the perfect size for most 5-6 gallon grain distillations. For the money i would have expected better
